  2. Gosh Darnit’s gone n done a window.

Hello, so this is our first ever post here on the interwebs as GOSH DARNIT.

We’ve spent the last couple of weeks working preparing a little range of items ready to install in our window display for the lovely people at oxfam dalston . The idea behind it is that which drove us to want to launch Gosh Darnit in the first place, that being: ‘Something Old, Something New’.We like to take anything that might be considered a ‘lost cause’ and see whether it can be transformed into something to treasure once more.

So a little while ago we wondered down to Oxfam Dalston to pick up a bag on of items that were destined never to see the shop floor for one reason or another. Then we went to work; priming, painting, stickng and sewing until we’d managed turn some of the around. Along the way we roped in the talents illustrator will stacey, who took a handful of pink flowered vintage plates and drew a sereis of urban landscape features. We think their pretty special, and we’ll definitely be looking to collaborate with him again soon. Finally we added a healthy measure of ‘pompom-ery’ and set off to decorate the window with all our future vintage goods in tow.

Our window will be up for the next seven days (hopefully the balloons will also), and then everything within it will go on sale in the shop. We’ll be posting some more detailed pictures of some of the items created later in the week, but for the mean time here’s some piccies of the view from 54-518 Kingsland road. Let us know your thoguhts :).
